As a general rule, clear inline fuel filters should only fill about halfway during normal operation. If the filter appears nearly full of fuel, this indicates the filter element is becoming clogged and the engine is attempting to draw fuel through the entire cartridge. When this occurs, the filter should be replaced promptly to prevent fuel starvation and maintain proper engine performance.
