The MTM Hydro 3/8" Plated Steel Quick Connect Plug x 3/8" MPT provides a fast, reliable, and economical solution for high-pressure connections in pressure washing systems. As a general rule, MTM Hydro 3/8" fittings are typically used between the pump and the spray gun, where 3/8" hose is most common. This plug features exposed male threads (MPT), while female couplers use internal threads-refer to product images for visual confirmation.
All MTM Hydro steel plugs are manufactured with National Pipe Thread (NPT), which uses a tapered thread design to create a tight seal through thread interference.
Installation Notes:

When connecting NPT to NPT, use 4-5 wraps of Teflon tape (clockwise) or 2-3 drops of Loctite thread sealant

British Standard Pipe (BSP) threads differ in pitch and are straight (non-tapered)

When installing NPT to BSP (or vice versa):

Use 6-7 wraps of Teflon tape or 2-3 drops of Loctite

Expect resistance sooner during tightening-this is normal

A proper seal will still be achieved when installed correctly
